Chelsea Lovitt is a singer and writer born and raised in south Mississippi, that inescapable linchpin for blues, grit and a dark sense of humor. After studying literature, Lovitt moved to Nashville to begin a career in songwriting. Since then, she has lived in France, the UK and New Orleans writing, playing and soaking in folk influence wherever it may be found.
She released her EP “Mossy Stone,” in April 2015 and since has recorded a full length album funded by the Mississippi Arts Commission at the acclaimed analog gem, the Bombshelter Studio in Nashville. Whether a 4 piece or solo, Lovitt has been on the road playing with national touring acts ranging from bluegrass bands to rocknroll country blues boys. Release of the new record will be on vinyl through Fat Elvis Records.
